Were You Affected by the Ministry of Defence ARAP Data Breach? You May Be Entitled to Compensation

DRM Legal is now representing individuals affected by one of the UK Government’s most serious data breaches, involving thousands of Afghan nationals and families who applied to the Ministry of Defence’s ARAP scheme.

The breach occurred in February 2022, when an MOD official mistakenly disclosed the personal data of over 18,000 Afghan applicants to the ARAP (Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy) programme — individuals who risked their lives supporting UK operations in Afghanistan. The breach exposed names, contact details, and in some cases, family information — creating potentially life-threatening consequences for those left behind.

Legal Action is Now Underway

DRM Legal is actively assisting affected individuals and families in seeking compensation for:

  • Emotional distress and anxiety
  • Loss of privacy
  • Increased risk to personal safety
  • Relocation and security costs incurred due to the breach

Were You Affected?

You may be entitled to compensation if:

  • You applied to the ARAP scheme on or before 7 January 2022
  • You were notified by the MOD, or later found your information may have been shared

Even if you were successfully relocated, you may still be entitled to compensation for the distress and risk caused.
